The days of satellite TV are long past. Not that they were ever real, but people still needed to install antenna dishes to receive the programming... I mean TV channels. With the advent of high speed Internet connection, the old ways of distribution (be it airwaves or coaxial cables) will soon become history.
GLWiZ is a subscription based IPTV service that streams Middle Eastern language channels directly to your computer or GLBox (proprietary device) in order to stream to a TV.
What we have here however is the GLWiZ app for Android. With it you can access the free video and audio streams that are available on the GLWiZ site, but in a more convenient manner, directly to your phone or tablet. This is not in HD however, but that shouldn't bother small screen users too much.
Content can be browsed by category or by language package. The package section is a bit misleading, Persian, Arabic, Kurdish and Afghan lead to the same assortment of channels Stations can be accessed either in audio only or in full audio&video format. There are quite a variety of channels although that does not impress the English speaker I'd imagine.
Not to loose hope though. GLWiZ promises to bring in English French and Portuguese languages.
- Free TV streams
- Free Radio streams
- A very convenient way to access web TV channels
- App runs a bit slow
- Some channels don't connect
GLWiZ app for Android has a simple and stable interface, despite running a bit slow, once you've connected to a TV stream, there are no issues.
